Roaches on the walls.
You know I can't say it enough. Coming into the office to work is highly overrated. I work in a cubicle in an office close to the big city. This building was probably built in the 70s. I think we have a cleaning crew that comes in maybe once a week. Its disgusting. I can't tell you how many times I have come into the office and killed between 1-4 roaches in the day. Worst I think was a 6 count. It came as a shock to me though that today the refrigeration on our water fountains If I didn't love my job so much, i'm sure I would be doing something else.
On the lighter side. This may our city council decided to put fees into our local town community pool. The "newly elected" council decided to do this the first day they held office as part of their first agenda. It came as a shock to much of the town. It left me a little bit miffed. Not so much for the money fee issue as it was the way the council barged in the first day of council meetings and pushed this through. There was no serious justification or even review of why they had to do this. Well it put me at odds enough to see what one city member could do about it. I noted that in the council charter, a citizen of trophy club can request the right to petition. Well now!!! I did just that. Over the last 2 weekends including memorial day I have been out at the pool each day holding a petition to press the town to have a vote on whether we have pool fees or not. The object is that if I get over 1200 signatures of the registered members of trophy club it will force the town to take a vote on the subject. I dont feel the council should have done what they did. They dont lord over our town like kings and queens. I feel a few of them hold a pretty smug attitude including our town mayor. Lets see how I do. I just want the vote but lets see what the council does. I'll be out there this weekend.
Oh BTW. I was front page of our local paper. I'm guessing our town mayor will have a few posts to some of her cronies.
Off my soapbox for now.
